The Effects of Disability in Activities of Daily Living on Daily Life Satisfaction among Injured Workers: Mediating Effects Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the disability in activities of daily living on daily life satisfaction among injured workers and mediating effects self-esteem and self-efficacy on the relationships between disability in activities of daily living and daily life satisfaction. For this purpose, 1,660 injured workers who participated in the 4th panel study of worker's compensation insurance were analyzed. As a results, disability in activities of daily living has a statistically significant negative effect on self-esteem, self-efficacy, and daily life satisfaction. On the other hand, effect on self-esteem and self-efficacy has a statistically significant positive effect on daily life satisfaction. And, self-esteem and self-efficacy has a mediating effect on the relationships between disability in activities of daily living and daily life satisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to active intervention in minimizing failure and restoring functions of injured workers, and the development and provision of social psychological rehabilitation programs for improving self-esteem and self-efficacy.
